About the Farm
In 1997, Charley Opper and partner Linda Barrett discovered a two-acre plot of land on the edge of Rumsey in Capay Valley, California. They planted their first crop of lavender that year and fell in love with the vibrant blooms and sweet scents that filled the air! They harvested fresh lavender for the farmer's market, and word spread quickly throughout the region. Since then, the couple has joyfully developed products that use their famous lavender for soaps, bath salts, and creams for sale to the public. The Cache Creek Lavender Farm was born, offering a full line of organic handmade lavender products and gifts.
With people from all over wanting to celebrate the harvest, the Lavender Festival became an annual event. It seems Charley and Linda grew more than lavender. Their passion also grew a culture, a tradition, enjoyed by the community and those fortunate enough to swing by the the small town of Rumsey in the summer.
